Well if it be all possible, tell the person in person. It is something about when the other person hears your voice or see you. You might be nervous but if the answer is yes it will be worth it. And when you talk to them just be straight forward!! But not too overbearing.
IF I were single (which I'm not), I'll tell you what WON'T work is a message that screams, "I'M A NIGERIAN SCAMMER AND I'LL ROB YOU BLIND AND BREAK YOUR HEART." I'm a bit suspicious about someone who left a comment on my page, I probably should delete it. I can usually spot them. I had one message me on Myspace and say he was an accountant, yet his grammar and spelling were worse than a fifth grader's. I'm pretty sure accountants have education past high school.
Just thought I'd let you know that the mods deleted the guy in question, so if anyone reading this left a comment on my page, I wasn't referring to you : ).
I also wanted to make clear that I'm not down on people from Africa, just the scammers. If anyone took offense to the Nigerian reference, I'm sorry, that wasn't my intention.
kathy,
i need to make a confession...
i missed a word at the fifth grade district spelling bee, but i've been brushing up on my spelling and grammar ever since..
i just didn't know how to tell ya, as i know that the "kick her in the seat" approach just doesn't seem to be working....
I have never responded to one of these posts but your question struck my heart as sincere...and you were not getting many responses.
I hopes this helps or at least gives you ideas beyond the usual:
I believe that it would be essiential that you think of your first introductory note as if it were the first note to your "help mate". In other words, the first note received from you by the person that you will spend the rest of your life with. If this turns out not to be the case, you have lost nothing. If eventually this relationship does prove to be fullfillment of God's promises, it will give the both of you something beautiful to reflect upon many years down the road.
Hope that give you somewhere to start. Be Blessed!
