About Me:
Martha Jones Owen=s singer, and musician grew up in Spanish Camp, a small town in Northeastern Wharton County, She attended T.L. Pink in Glen Flora, E.A. Greer Junior High, and El Campo High School. After high school, Martha was very driven and attended many colleges, which included Wharton Junior College, Houston Community College, and Alvin Junior College. During her time in high school, she participated in the El Campo High School Band and Choir. She had her fingers in many musical pots. Martha learned to play alto/soprano sax, flute, clarinet, and drums. She finally mastered the clarinet.

Martha developed her passion for gospel music in church. Around the age of nine, she performed a great deal in her church choir. Her participation in the church choir aided in the growth of her long time ties with gospel music. Many gospel singers initially developed their musical abilities in churches where gospel prevailed as a mode of worship. Few, however, stayed exclusively in the religious realm. Speaking with Martha, you will find out that she has never thought about singing anything else but Gospel. Her deep rooted faith, her impressively beautiful and powerful voice, a voice of such passion, forcibly expressive, and very exceptional, with a range that creates a sound that is as all embracing and very heart felt. Martha=s voice is an alluring mixture of R&B, Jazz, and Gospel that are truly distinguishing and matchless.

Out of the many influences, the late Reverend E. S. Fields, Pastor of the Rising Star Baptist Church made the greatest impact on her life. It was at the Rising Star Baptist Church that she became the church musician. Many influential music icons that have inspired her are Aretha Franklin, Gladys Knight, and Shirley Caesar. She dreams of the day she will be on stage with them.

Martha has organized many musical groups in her community including The Crusaders from The Rising Star Choir, 20 Century District Youth Choir, J.U.S.T., and the Anointed Praise Ministry Youth Praise Team. She was also a Lead Soloist in the Spirit Truth & Praise and Gulf Coast Community Choir and for more than seven years, she has been blessing people with her On Line Daily and Inspirational Ministry. People all over the world request her to pray for them and daily she e mails different prayers to them. The joy that she receives from this ministry is awesome.

Martha is dedicated in using her knowledge and skills to better the Wharton Community. In 2006, Martha received a City of Wharton Citizen Police Certification. With her certification, she plans to get more involved with the youth and elderly in Wharton, Texas. In 2008, she will establish the Martha Jones Owen=s Scholarship Fund for those who wished to attend college and cannot afford too financially.

Working with the youth is what she enjoys doing. She finds so much joy working with them. One message that Martha wants to send out to the youth of today is that despite your situation, having faith in God will ultimately be the answer to your problems. Her main goal with her music is to give the youth songs that will help them stay encouraged. Keep them seeking and loving God. She is an incredibly active participant in helping her community and she has participated and organized countless benefits, aiding homeless citizens, toy drives, and food drives. The City of Wharton Police Department asked Martha to join the AShattered Dreams@ program that educates the teenage community about the dangers of drinking and driving where she performed on November 15, 2006 as a guest soloist. She will never forget this wonderful experience. It touched so many kids.
Martha realizes that the path to stardom is never easy, of course, and that is true for her as it is for any other Artist trying to build a career. She had so many requests from colleagues, fans, and friends wanting her to record a CD of her exceptional voice. The late Morris Bailey set her up to audition for Asinni Records. The CEO of the company knew Mr. Bailey and trusted his word. He said, AI want you to hear someone who can move mountains.@ The CEO heard her and she landed a contract with the company. Asinni Records feels very blessed to have her as an Artist and is excited to work with her extraordinary talent. The CEO of Asinni, Inc. comments AAnd while I think all of us admire Martha=s creative talents as a Recording Artist, it is her lifelong pursuit of wanting to be a Recording Artist that I find most inspiring.

Asinni endorses diversity in its artist, believing that a talent must be multifaceted in order to reach the plateau that all Artists strive to attain. This poses no problem for Martha vocalizing different styles of music is her forte; not only traditional gospel, but her repertoire includes Latin influenced sounds such as Tejano and Italian; coupling this with the fact that she is challenging herself by studying other languages will only prove elemental in adding to her resume as a performer and boosting her appeal with audiences universally.

She is currently beginning the promotion of her new album Titled AMartha Jones Owens.@ Praise Him ".
The CD shows her spiritual artistry and soulful spirit combined with powerful songs that will bless everyone.
