You been sitting down for so long, you need to stand up today, even
in the circular world you and I have heard this song .
GET UP STAND UP
STAND FOR YOUR LIFE.
DON’T GIVE UP THE FIGHT.
The song may come from the circular world, but it is the truth, we were born to be winners, to win, dominate, subdue and multiply, remember the adage that says, THE ONLY WAY TO STOP STAGNATION IS MOVEMENT. You have been sitting down for so long, so long is too long brother. The lame man walked because he believed and accepts
Jesus Christ, and that was the end of his stagnation. Listen to this testimony.Linda a young graduate from the University of Lagos with first class honors in Economics. For years she was on the street in her quest for a job, she couldn’t pin down to any, in her quest she was humiliated by men, and was forced into asking questions to herself, how can I be in this terrible mess, what have I done?, to be messed around like this ?, I have the best result from the best university in NIGERIA and still things have remain stagnate in my life.
Things will remain stagnate in our lives, if we don’t believe or confess the name of the one that changes situations and conditions,Linda ran to a man of God for an interpretation of her misfortune,the man of God told her to go and adhere to the voice of reasoning,which is the gentle voice of God, she was told to go and start baking beans cake just like her mother, Linda heard what she was not willing to listen, most Christians today are like Linda, we always want GOD to do things our way.
Linda refused to adhere to her calling and leaned on her misunderstanding, and never believed the message from the man of
God was meant for her, all she could see was her first class degree and her social status,our status has been our problem, our troubles will go if we accept the truth and let go your imaginations,so for seven years nothing was working for her, she was stagnate. SO IT WAS TIME FOR HER TO GET UP, PICK UP HER MAT AND WALK. There comes a time in our lives, when we have to pick our mat and walk. When things refused to smile at us , when there is no help from any where, when what we believe in fails, when our ideas no longer produce the expected results,when you are found at a cross road, when disappointments becomes a close friend, when you no longer live under the shadows of others.
And this was what Linda did, she was forced to come out. Linda went back to the man of GOD and ask him forgiveness for being stubborn, she was told to go and do what the Lord has commanded her to do, we are failures today because refuse our calling, are you following the will for your life, or your will?, so she pick up her mat, and ready to go, picking up your mat and walking away , means walking away from your troubles and problems.
So weeks later, Linda joined her mother, and the first week they had an unusual sells, her mother’s bean cake sold more than any other woman on the street, this continued for weeks, months, and the real day for her to pick up her mat and walk was a Thursday afternoon, August 2001, an old classmate of hers, walked in the mother’s canteen to buy some bean cake and saw her, Helen was her name, a worker with SHELL a petroleum company, Helen took Linda to her office and introduce Linda to her colleagues, with her friend's contacts,Linda was able to win a contract with SHELL petrol.
Linda’s mother’s restaurant became an official eating place for shell staffs, Linda and her mother were no longer selling for ordinary street people, but have to upgrade the standard of their restaurant, Linda grew in size and status, she became popular and have to change her restaurant into a fast food joint with branches not only in port Harcourt , but in several cities in Nigeria, Linda moved and stagnation stopped in her life, so was the lame man whom we read his story in the book of John 5. you must hate a place were you are now, for you to move to better place, this lame man never loved his condition, because he believed he was never made to be handicapped, so are we today, we are not created to suffer, we only lack the understanding of God,but the lame man understood what God told man in the garden of Eden, go yea dominate, subdue and multiply. When you remain in a particular place that is unpleasant to you and you do not hate it,you are bond to remain in the same place. Let us be as wise like this lame man, whom knew that Christ was going to pass through the road he was sitting, he waited and receive his miracle, so let us
stand on the way were Christ will met us.
So stand up.
